Abstract: This guide will give you a rough pricing guideline and tips to uptrade in game and resell.|
What does UC stand for?
UC stands for Unconverted.
Why do they exist?
April 27th, 2007, TNT drastically changed their neopets art style so that people could customize their neopets. Whilst many neopets were automatically change some combinations were given the option to remain unchanged.
How do I create a UC Pet?
You can't create one. You can either trade in game for one (Pet for a Pet), apply to adopt one or buy one offsite (against the rules obviously)
Understanding Pound Chat
The pound chat is a fast paced chat board on neopets. I strongly recommend you have a side account ready open on another browser to help bump your board during peak hours. Having (iVote BC) in your title will also assist in free bumps.
It has its own abbreviations that you will need to know and learn.
UFT = Up for Trade
UFA = Up for Adoption
D/UC/K (DUCK's) = Draiks, Unconverted, Krawks
AUTO: Desired Pet/ Automatic Trade
OTB: Offer(s) to beat/past offers
RN = Real name (eg. Bob)
RW = Real word (e.g Word)
Uncapped = Neopets name is in lowercase (eg. teddy)
SBD = Some Battledome stats
BD = Battledome Pet
VWN = Very well named (eg. Xxxxx)
WN = Well named (eg. Xxxxxxxxx, xxxxxxxx, _Xxxxxxx_)
DN = Decent name (eg. XxxxxxXxxxx, Xxxxx_xxxx, xxxxXxxxx)
BN = Bad name (eg. XXXX#xxx X_#xx_#, Xxxxxx######)
HTT = Hard to trade
App = Application for adoption process
FFQ = Faerie Fountain Quest
Custom = Create the desired/wanted neopet with name/colour/species combination.
Clothed = Converted neopet has painted colour clothes (e.g Royal Boy Kacheek has his clothes)
Unclothed = Converted neopet does not have its clothes because it was found in the pound (E.g Royal Boy Lupe was pounded. Clothes do not go through the pound)
All pets have a certain value.
Converted neopets are based on 3 things.
Name, Colour & Species
Sadly your Green Grundo Sir_Bob_15486 isn't worth anything on the PC.
Offering bad named, poorly painted pets will often result in you being flamed.
To reach your 'goal' for either a permie or for some cash you must have the right starter pet.
Real Names - Real COMMON names (Sally, Bob, Mark, Andrew) that were purged have significant value. This is give or take with the users taste but generally one or more user will offer high valued pets including UC's just for a name.
Real Words - Real ENGLISH COMMON real words such as Light, Dark, Summer, No, Star that were purged also have significant value.This is give or take with the users taste but generally one or more user will offer high valued pets including UC's just for a word.
Unpurged real words + real names add more value to some users.
Converted Neopets: Draik & Krawks will most probably be the only converted neopet that will get you a UC. Basic draik colours with DN/WN can get you low-level UC's.
Chocolate Draiks, Ice & Robot Krawk's can go for mid-range UC's. (I won't say Robot Draiks just because I've rarely seen one traded and chocolate is a more popular custom)
Other than that converted neopets usually go for the same value of the same or similarly painted colour.
Trade WN Plushie Usul for a WN Plush Gronbu
Get the drift? ;p
There are some cases that people will over-offer (UC's) for converted pets. This is very rare, and I would caution people who trade with this person as it may be an illegit pet. Make sure you know the pet's history before trading.
Unconverted Neopet Value
Level 1 (Low End UC's) - Price range $5 - $19 (Average DN pet price may push 19$ for some pets if they are WN'ed/VWN'ed)
**Please note. As stated before this value might change due to various reasons. A VWWWWN Darigan pet could possibly reach the $25 mark. A secured and legit pet might add a couple of dollars value. A high demand and low stock of a certain pet (E.g Tyrannian pets) may push the value up more. This is a very basic guideline**
WN/VWN Level one bracket pets usually trade for DN Draiks/Krawks, BD Pets, FFQ Customs, Other Level 1 bracket UC's and sometimes Level 2 Bracket UC's.
Level 2 (Low End - Mid Range UC's) - Price range $20 - $45 (Average DN pet price may push 50$ for some pets if they are WN'ed/VWN'ed are attractive to the buyer regardless of name)
**Please note. As stated before this value might change due to various reasons. A VWWWWN Faerie Wocky pet could possibly reach the $65 mark. A secured and legit pet might add a couple of dollars value. A high demand and low stock of a certain pet (E.g Halloween pets) may push the value up more. This is a very basic guideline**
Level 3 (Mid-Range - High End UC's) - Price range $50 - $100 (Average DN pet)
**Please note. I think that the current demand/supply of these pets make this range fairly firm. BN pets may fall under but it is very rare that any of these pets are valued over 100. Plushie Buzz's are listed here as they are common UC Plushes due to the fact people made this pet for the avatar via through FFQ.**
Level 5 (High End UC's) - Price range $100 - 200 (VWWWWWN Plushie & Royal pets may push 200+$)
**Please note: I've based this on previous sale history & in-game commonness and ability to trade (HTT or ETT). Some may fall under $100 but usually have '#' & '_' in their name.**
Level 6 (Very-High End UC's) - Price range $200 - $350 Some of these pets my fall under $200 due to name, legitness and quick sale. Some of these pets I would consider HTS but when the right buyer approaches they can sell for their value
**Please note: Some pets in this bracket may fall back down to the 175 mark. I've ranked them here due to their rarity/demand in game. Very few trades & sales have been done with these pets it will depend on various circumstances to correctly value these. (E.g I have never seen a Plushie Peophin trade or sold on-site or off-site)**
When trading converted clothed neopets you will be unable to send the clothes if the neopet is just pounded. It must be completed through user to user transfer.
If you don't have flash (E.g...you're using an iPad/iPhone...) this is the quick link to getting to the transfer page: http://www.neopets.com/pound/transfer.phtml
Depending on your age you will be allocated a certain amount of user to user transfers per month.
1 Month - 1 Transfer
24 Months - 2 Transfers
4 Years - 3 Transfers
6 Years - 4 Transfers
8 Years - 5 Transfers
10 Years - 6 Transfers
You can check if you've used any transfers for the month on this page
If you are wondering how much a particular pet will cost I suggest using Jelly neo's calculator: http://www.jellyneo.net/?go=pound_adoption_costs
This is where you can make money or reach an in-game goal.
There are a couple of ways you can go about this.
1a)Buying DN/WN low-range UC's for $10 and trading for a WN/VWN draik in game and reselling for $20 - $30 can be a quick and easy way to make money. Many legit newbies on neopets will do this as they think its their only way onto the UC market.
1b)Buy BN/DN low-range UC's $5-10 and attempt to uptrade for WN/VWN low-end UC's/BD pets/BN Draiks & Krawk's (All which will sell for a profit)
1c)Buy WN/VWN low-range uncommon UC's ($15 - $25) and trade for a BN/DN Mid-Range UC.
1d)Have/Buy a FFQ account & have 14mil neopoints to spend on a full draik/krawk custom and trade for mid-range UC's.
2)Trade DN/WN/VWN mid-range UC's (grey's generally) and up-trade for DN/WN Level 3 Mid-range/high end UC's (generally faeries)
3)Generally I would say sell here. Level 3 pets are usually in high demand and can be a quick sale. Pushing to the next range is difficult. However if you want continue to #4
4)Keep trading within Level 3 until you have a VWN high demand pet (E.g Grey Ixi, UC Faerie Xwee/Ixi/Techo/Yurble/Tonu/Grarrl, Grey Usul and possibly VWN mara gelert)
5)Try and enter the plush market by trading a popular WN/VWN Level 3 pet and trading for a BN/DN uncommon plush pet.
6)A lot of patience is needed trading at this level. The amount of under offers you receive may send you crazy. Keep trading within the plushie bracket for a DN/WN Plushie or a DN/WN Royal
7)If you get to the stage where you have a popular VWN plushie or royal(Scorchio, Kougra, Shoyru, Zafara are probably some of the most popular plushes) you can attempt to break into the final level. Expect a lot of "I'll consider your offer". Owners can be extremely fussy over names so make sure to have a WN+ pet at this stage.
Another way to enter the market is to have a very common RN/RW. This is very subjective to the person's taste and sentimental value of the word/name. There is no guarantee what type of pet you'll get. Goodluck if that's how you want to reach your goal.
As I've said numerous times above these prices are vague. Some sellers like to quick sell, others like to milk money out of people.
Names add value but are very subjective both in-game and off-site. Make sure if you are buying to ask for the pets name/format/meaning of its name.
If you want to make money don't accept under-offers.
Some pets are HTT. Especially at high end trading. If the right buyer/trader doesn't come around just wait.
I strongly advise against hacking or CG'ing accounts that have high-end UC's and try to sell them/trade them. TNT does generally catch this and will return the pet to the original owner.

| UC Darigan Korbat, UC Darigan Aisha, UC Darigan Ixi, UC Grey Aisha, UC Faerie Wocky, UC Darigan Wocky. < All these pets are High End UCs.
Oh and the Ice Krawk go for High End ucs because you can only get Ice krawks through the lab. Theres only 2-3 in Neopia I guess

| Looking through the guides and updating the list right now...
This looks like a good guide, besides the format and all the stretching... I'm guessing Chi doesn't post here often anymore? Would it be okay to repost this, or for a mod to edit it?
I will ONLY contact you here on Hidden Below unless I say otherwise here
