I don't care if I become a moron who just has big biceps and weak legs.
I had to stop my Starting Strength program since I started Varsity Judo 2 weeks ago, but now I want to add biceps/chest workouts along with it.
It doesn't have to be just biceps. I'd like it even more if it were a complete workout, but of course focused on biceps.
Anyone have any they'd like to share?

Depends on what you can lift under control. This is mine: 1. Warm up curls with 20lbs. 3 sets of 10 reps, squeeze at peak. 2. Stretch arms 3. Bicep curls with 35 lbs. 3 sets of 10 reps, Hold for 3 seconds at peak and squeeze. 4. Hammer Curls with 25lbs or 30lbs. 4 sets of 8 reps, No squeeze just get these over with, they suck. 5. More Biceps Curls with 50lbs. 3 sets of 6 reps, Hold for 2 seconds at peak, DON'T Squeeze!!!! 6. Close Grip Pull-ups on the Pull up Bar. 2 Sets of 16, slowly and be sure to stretch when coming down.
My Arms are 16"s, but that's Tricep Included. Not too Bulky, but have definition. |

I second this. That is where I started out at, but once I got my Body down to the science I don't need it anymore. |

| If you have an iphone get the app GymGoal. Very useful. You can build a workout using that program. It has videos, pictures and even text describing how to perform the exercise and what muscles are being worked out. I would really recommend it. Something else that I would recommend when doing bicep workouts is using free weights. They allow for a greater range of motion and therefore are better for you. |

You can't just build your bicep muscles without working out the rest of your body. I mean, it's physically possible, but you will have a hard time doing it, and it will take MUCH longer. Probably 5x longer...

I disagree, p90x is effective for couch potatoes. For fit freaks, it's a mere 3 week workout and it even loses it's effectiveness. I'm only saying this because I've used it, but if you're already fit, well, what's there to improve? Anyways, my point is, everyone's body is different, and once you get your own science down on how your body reacts to what; and how. Then that's what you need to stick with.
And yes, Biceps are a "catch-up" Muscle. I only work them out once a month to be honest, because working out your back will make them twice as big as you would working them out alone.
And the reason I said 'Catch-up' is because your biceps will give out WAAAAAY before your back does, and I refuse to use straps for anything. I love my popeye forearms, and I'll dead-grip anything. |

I always thought P90X is for beginners/people who want to lose weight (the whole program is basically more of a cardio).
Scarydark you should post some pictures. :O |

| I do the p90x ab workout every other day. I don't consider myself a beginner, I've been weight lifting for more than two years and I must say it works. |

Ignoring the fact that you just want bigger biceps...
Tips: Do pull-ups or chin-ups. Do one of these for 3 sets of 8-10 reps ONCE a WEEK. These are basic bodyweight exercises that are proven to build bigger arms.
Instead of doing regular curls, try doing 21's. Google them. They're tough. But they work.
Work your triceps. Working out your triceps 2-3 times MORE than your biceps not only builds bigger arms but bigger biceps, too. i.e. if your back/arm workout has 2 bicep exercises, try doing 4 triceps involved exercises on your chest/arm workout.
P.S.: SS sucks beyond suckage. |
